30 Summer Bliss Review

30 Summer Bliss comes with 10 more paylines than the 20 you get in the original Summer Bliss, hence the ‘30’ in the title. Visually, the game has been given a solid overhaul too, but it still looks dated due to the physical slot machine style EGT is known for. If you liked the first one, chances are you’ll also enjoy this sequel.

The biggest difference is that you now get random extra wilds in the base game, and that the potential has been increased from 5,000x to 6,000x per line bet. The 96.05 % RTP has also been improved a bit, and the volatility is plain medium instead of medium/high. The idyllic surfer lifestyle is certainly appealing, but the superficialness of the presentation will probably repel some players.

30 Summer Bliss Features

The hot surfer dude is the regular wild symbol, and he steps in for all pay symbols to help you form winning combos. He’s also the top tier symbol in this game, awarding 200x your stake for 5 on a payline. In addition, the blonde and brunette surfer babes, which share the top spot for regular pay symbols, might turn wild on any given spin at random times.

These 2 ladies are always wild in the Bonus Round, and you need at least 3 wave scatters anywhere in sight to trigger the feature. Landing 3 or 4 scatters awards a free respin, where reels containing the scatters are held in place. The remaining reels respin, and this gives you a chance to increase your bonus round tier.

Land another scatter on the respin, and you get another respin. The goal is to get 5 scatters in total, so you get the best possible bonus round. You win 12 free spins either way, and all wins are subject to a 2x multiplier. As mentioned above, the 2 ladies will act like wilds, just like the surfer dude, and here is the difference between the respective bonus round tiers:

  • 5 scatters tier – all low-value royal symbols are excluded from the reels.
  • 4 scatters tier – 9, 10, J and Q are excluded from the reels.
  • 3 scatters tier – 9 and 10 are excluded from the reels.

You can retrigger the bonus round to win 12 extra free spins, and these are added to the tally in the current feature. You will not get a new respins round to possibly upgrade the bonus round, in other words.

As is usually the case with EGT, 30 Summer Bliss is part of their Jackpot Card Suit network. This means that there are 4 progressive jackpots up for grabs, and the spades jackpot is the biggest one. The jackpots can only be won in the randomly triggered Mystery Card Pick Bonus Game, where you pick from 12 face-down cards. Match 3 card suits to win the corresponding jackpot.

The 200 Spins 30 Summer Bliss Experience

Wilds are very much involved in most of the action, at least in our experience, and we trigger the bonus round at 2:17 into the 4-minute highlights video. The up-front respin feature did not award us any extra scatters, so we got only the lowest tier bonus round. You can see how it all played out by hitting the play button below.

Review Summary

EGT keeps churning out their brick and mortar style online slots, and we hardly see this developer changing their tune in the near future. 30 Summer Bliss comes with a cast of very beautiful lead characters, and the whole thing reminds us of some B-list Baywaytch surfer movie knock-off from the early 90s. It’s just all too perfect and superficial in it’s bleached teeth charm, but some players might find that attractive for all we know.

As for the game itself, you get some decent wild wins on a regular basis to keep you afloat while waiting to trigger the 2x multiplier bonus round. The hold & respin scatter feature might upgrade your free spins tier, and with all low-value royals removed, bigger wins up to 6,000x per line bet can manifest. Of course, you also have the random jackpot game, that adds an extra layer of excitement.

Pros

  • Random extra wilds in the base game
  • Bonus round w/ 2x multiplier and extra wilds
  • Random card suit jackpot game
  • Win up to 6,000x per line bet

Cons

  • Dated style and superficial theme

If you appreciate 30 Summer Bliss you should also try:

Summer Bliss – is the even more dated looking predecessor from EGT, and it comes with 2 extra wilds in the bonus round. You get 15 spins instead of 12 here, and a 3x multiplier instead of 2x. However, the max win is 5,000x per line bet instead of 6,000x.

Aloha Party – is another summer, surfing and beach slot from EGT, and you will benefit from wild multipliers up to 15x in the bonus round. You can also look forward to wilds on reels 2 to 4 in the base game, as well as the usual progressive card suit jackpots.

Baywatch – is a branded slot from IGT, based around the lifeguard drama that was extremely popular in the 90s. You get randomly expanding wilds that can clone itself to adjacent reels, and the bonus round comes with a 2x multiplier. Anyone who grew up with Pamela Anderson and co will probably enjoy this nostalgia trip down memory lane.
