Bullseye Bucks Review
A trip to the traveling carnivals of your childhood is on the agenda when you step up to the game of Bullseye Bucks by Amaya Gaming. This colorful, cartoonish slot offers 9 fixed paylines across 5 reels that move a little differently than you may be used to. Easy play will appeal to novices while expert slot gamers will appreciate uncovering all the hidden bonus features of Bullseye Bucks, but don’t let the humdrum carnie who stands to the right of the reels bring down your mood in this one-of-a-kind slot game.
A circus-flavored pipe organ plays as you spin the reels, which are comprised of bullseye targets that flip around horizontally instead of spinning vertically in rows. A toy shotgun sound pops as each row turns over and reveals the symbol beneath. The entire playing screen is designed like a booth at the carnival, with a red and white striped awning overhead and an assortment of colorful stuffed animals hanging on either side of the reels. There’s also a scruffy carnie worker named Pete, standing to the left of the reels and looking rather bored.
The symbols on the reels are all true-to-theme and begin with a lower-valued set of five that are set upon red and white bullseye targets. The lowest valued one features the word “Miss.” Next up is a gold star, then a teddy bear, then a set of white milk bottles and finally, a smiling clown sporting a big blue bowtie.
The three highest-valued symbols are all set on yellow and white bullseyes. The candy apple ranks lowest, the hot dog is second, and the pink cotton candy emblazoned with the word “Wild” in green is the highest-paying symbol of the game. This wild is only used to complete combinations with the hot dog and the candy apple symbols.
Basic Features
While Bullseye Bucks doesn’t include a scatter symbol or the usual accompanied free spins, it does include 3 creative bonus features that appear fairly regularly throughout play. The most basic of the 3 is the Pete’s Payday Bonus. It’s triggered by landing 3 or more of the green dollar sign bonus symbols on adjacent reels and doesn’t require any action from the player. Pete’s boss is delivering cash for payday and all you have to do is watch it roll in until the boss’s generosity runs out. Another potential prize associated with this feature is that landing 4 dollar sign symbols will earn you a 2X multiplier, while 5 of them will give you a 3X slot multiplier.
Bonus Mini Games
Bullseye Bucks includes two fun mini-games. The first is called Prize Pick and is triggered by landing on three or more of the stuffed lion “Bonus” symbols on adjacent reels. The game opens in a separate screen, where it displays a selection of prizes for you to click on. Try to click on four without revealing the game-ending “Out of Stock” message. If you succeed at this, you’ll advance to round two, where the prizes are even more valuable. The game repeats itself, and if you complete level two without anything being out of stock, you’re taken to the final third level with even more valuable prizes.
Enter the Duck Shoot bonus game by landing three or more yellow rubber duck symbols on connected reels. You’ll then be led to shoot at the ducks as they move across the screen, and when they’re hit, each duck will reveal a 1X, 2X, or 5X multiplier. If the word “Miss” appears, the game ends, but if you’re lucky enough to see “Sharpshooter” on your first shot, you win a big 20X multiplier.
Suited for Low or High Coin Players
Bullseye Bucks’ nine paylines are fixed, so you must always bet on all nine. However, you can choose from betting 0.01, 0.05, 0.25, 1.00, 2.00, or 5.00 for some flexibility in your wagers.
