The White Wolf Review
The White Wolf follows the Native American tradition of being close to Mother Nature and the environment at all times. Therefore, the great American wild is omnipresent in the game.
In the background, you will see a breath-taking view of the Death Valley, with its tall and mighty mountains towering above arid, barren plains. The skies are blue and the sparse vegetation brings colourful patches of colour to the otherwise unwelcoming landscape.
The game is as silent as the desert itself, except when prizes are triggered: sound effects and music inspired by the many Native American tribes will accompany the symbols into their dance. Overall, The White Wolf keeps the EGT tradition of creating an immersive and believable game universe.
Much like the protagonists of the game, you must prepare carefully before venturing into the wilderness. A good place to start is by observing the five reels and choosing how many paylines to activate: either 1, 3, 5, 7 or 10, the maximum. You can do so thanks to the tabs located on each side of the game screen.
Move to the bottom of the screen to finalise your settings. Here, you will be able to choose how many coins to bet on each of the activated paylines, that is to say either 1, 2, 5, 10 or 20 coins each. Once you click one of the shortcut buttons, your bet is placed and the reels will start spinning. Alternatively, use the orange Autoplay button to the left to let the game place several bets in a row for as long as you wish.
There are two more aspects of the gameplay worth mentioning here. The first one is the Gamble option, which appears after each win in single spin mode. Use it to double your earnings by guessing correctly the colour of a hidden card. A mistake will end the mini game, and take your new coins away so stay alert!
Our final point here concerns the progressive jackpot of the game, called Jackpot Cards. You can see its amount split into four suits at the top of the game screen. The jackpot is triggered randomly after a win: your task will be to flip over cards until you find three of the same suit. You will win the corresponding amount instantaneously, and it can mean a lot of money if you’re lucky.
Old Classics Meet Ancient Artefacts
The paytable in The White Wolf comprises both classic slot game symbols are some original content in tune with the game universe.
Starting with the classics, we find the 9, 10, Jack, Queen, King and Ace symbols directly inspired from playing cards. They display simple but colourful and original fonts.
Moving on to the most interesting, and rewarding, part of the menu, we meet a fierce-looking American Eagle, a set of Hatchets place on a hide, an illustration of two men performing a ritual dance around a fire, a young Native American Girl and the Chief of the tribe himself. All symbols have a lot of details and are quite beautiful to look at – especially when they line up!
