More Dice & Roll Review
EGT have actually made a whole series to honor the traditional theme of old school slots. More Dice and Roll is one of them and we have to admit it’s probably among the best of its kind. The design, the color choices and by all means the graphics are totally on spot. Especially the graphics of the symbols are really worthy of a few minutes of marveling before spinning the reels. They feature the most basic, stereotypical images that have been on slot games since the dawn of time. However, you probably haven’t seen too many of them looking this realistic. They literally look good enough to eat here and we’re glad EGT put an effort to make them seem this appealing. The very dark purple in the background of this game brings out the icons wonderfully. And the payline sidebars blend perfectly with the rest of the design. The music that accompanies winning rounds is fun and kind of mimics the tunes of old slot machines. The animations, however, though executed really well, are the same as in other games with this theme from the same developer. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, only we were hoping for a little more diversity.
A lovely layout features the rather unusual 4 rows, instead of the customary 3, and 5 reels. The number of paylines is also all but what we are used to. There’s a whopping 40 of them. Unfortunately, you will have to stick with that, as they do not have the option of adjusting them. Only the highest paylines are paid and winning combos need to begin from the leftmost reel. That much is pretty standard. As for the symbols, we have already mentioned that they feature the regular fruits. We have lemons, cherries, plums, oranges, grapes and watermelons. Accompanying them are the gold bells and a ruby red number 7. As soon as you spin a winning sequence with any of them in it, the symbols will start dancing around in a little flame.
This game offers a single special symbol – a Wild one. It comes in the shape of red rolling dice, which makes a beautiful addition to the whole feel of the game. The Wild can appear anywhere on the reels, so be sure to watch out for it. It can substitute for all symbols in this game, without exception. Also, it has the tendency to expand to all the neighboring positions. The animation that the developers have made for the expanding effect is nothing short from brilliant. The rolling dice imitate being thrown, as they fly into the neighboring cells and take the place of the symbols in them. The musical sequence is also different to mark the special occasion. Then all the affected fruits start turning in their flames, while the dice spin in midair.
Well, we’ll have to disappoint you here. As is custom with these games, they rarely ever offer any exciting bonus features. There’s no Scatter symbol in More Dice and Roll and there are no freespins or stacked symbol features. Sad, but true. However, EGT haven’t forgotten to include their staple extra features, which always make for a nice treat, even in the scantest of games.
Our favorite Gamble feature – ever present, of course. The reason we like this one so much is that you can use it any time you spin a winning combination. It’s as common as that. Furthermore, you can always opt in or out of it – don’t underestimate the appeal of choice. Once you win, the Gamble feature becomes active and will be available under the amount of your win. You can simply click it to summon the Gamble feature screen. After this, you will need to guess the color of the playing card, so as to double your win. If you get it wrong, the amount will be void.
The 4 jackpots at the top of the screen are hanging there, just waiting for you to win one of them. This feature is a bit of a capricious one and will only appear when it so chooses. But when it does, a new screen will appear with 12 playing cards on it. Your goal is to collect three of them with the same suit. Whichever suit you manage to gather will be the jackpot you win.
